abstract

  • Abnormalities in various neuropeptide systems have been detected in a number of neuropsychiatric disorders. Understanding the pathophysiological significance of these findings requires considering them in the context of the neural circuits involved. In both Huntington's disease and Alzheimer's disease, the reported alterations in multiple neuropeptide systems may help define the primary pathologic change, and may lead to new therapeutic strategies.
