The X-Ray Facility at Scripps Research is a single crystal X-Ray structure determination facility for small inorganic or organic molecules. It serves the Scripps investigators along with pharmaceutical and biotech companies around the San Diego area.
The Chemistry department of the Institute has an X-ray Facility which maintains two X-ray diffractometers, Bruker-APEX CCD Diffractometer equipped with a molybdenum tube, and Rigaku AFC6S with a copper tube. The X-ray data can be collected at room temperature as well as low temperature. The students can submit crystals of small organic or inorganic molecules for X-ray Structure determination. Outsiders can also get structure determination done here. Since this is a TSRI recharge facility, the outsiders have to pay a surcharge.
